Asper
Aemilius. A Roman grammarian, the author of a commentary on Vergil, now existing in a fragmentary condition, and written probably about A.D. 80. In this he treated systematically Vergil's deviations from ordinary usage in syntax. See Ribbeck's Prolegom. to Vergil, p. 128. Another Asper wrote an Ars Grammatica, printed in Keil's Grammatici Latini, v. 547.
