Limus
Līmus, i, m.,
- the god of oblique glances, Arn. 4, cap. 9.
Limus
(Λιμός), the Latin Fames, or personification of hunger. Hesiod (Hes. Th. 227) describes hunger as the offspring of Eris or Discord. A poetical description of Fames occurs in Ovid (Ov. Met. 8.800, &c.), and Virgil (Aen. 6.276) places it, along with other monsters, at the entrance of Orcus. [L.S]
