Ὀρτυγία

Ὀρτῠγία, Ion. -ιη, ἡ, (ὄρτυξ)

• Quail-island, the ancient name of Delos or Rhenaea, Str. 10.5.5; also of other places in Greece; in one of these Artemis killed Orion, Od. 5.123: hence she is called Ὀρτυγία, S. Tr. 213 (lyr.).
