regalia (pl.): insignia regia: with the purple and sceptre and r., cum purpura et sceptro et illis insignibus regiis, Cic. Sest. 26, 57: more indef., honorum decora atque insignia, Flor. 1, 26, 5. N.B.--Insigne regium (Curt. 3, 3, 19) or regis (Virg. Aen. 12, 289) denotes some particular ensign of royalty, such as a tiara or diadem.
