Schol. Aristonic.; vs. 14 wird 373 wiederholt ; sonst erscheint das Wort im Homer nicht ; Batrach. 180 στέμματα der Athene ; Her. 1.132, 7.197 ; diese στέμματα wurden sowohl auf dem Stabe, σκῆπτρον, wie Il. a.a.O., als auf dem Haupte getragen, Jacobs Philostr. imagg. 339 ; ἱερὰ στέμματα σέβειν, Eur. A fillet or chaplet of wool born by a priest : σκῆπτρον καὶ στέμμα θεοῖο Il. 1.28.

In pl. in the same sense : στέμματʼ ἔχων ἐν χερσὶν Ἀπόλλωνος χρυσέῳ ἀνὰ σκήπτρῳ (to denote his being a suppliant) Il. 1.14 = 373.

στέμμα , ατος (στέφω): chaplet or fillet of a priest. Chryses takes the fillet from his head and places it upon his sceptre, because he comes as a suppliant, Il. 1.14. (The cut shows the band in two positions—as extended at full length, and as wrapped around the head. In the second representation the ends should hang down by the sides of the head below the ears, Il. 1.28.)
