Comiso
At the site of the modern city of Comiso considerable remains of an ancient settlement were found long ago, attesting to an unbroken sequence of habitation from the 5th c. B.C. down at least to the Byzantine period. Near the fountain Diana some mosaics have been found belonging to a Roman bath. Some Christian hypogaea and a Byzantine baptistery are the evidence for the later periods.
