πρόθυρον, τό, die vordere Tür, der Torweg, der aus dem Gehöft ins Freie führt, Il. 15.124, 24.323 ; ἀνὰ πρόθυρον τετραμμένος, von dem Toten, der bald bestattet werden soll, 19.212. In der Od. auch im plur., στῆ ἐπὶ προθύροις Ὀδυσῆος, οὐδοῦ ἐπʼ αὐλείου, 1.103, wie 4.40.
