ὀγμεύω,

• move in a straight line, prop. of ploughers or mowers, Hsch. s.v. ὄγμος: metaph., c. acc. cogn., στίβον plough or trail oneʼs weary way, of a lame man, S. Ph. 163 (anap.); ὤγμευον αὐτῷ they were marching in file before him, X. Cyr. 2.4.20.

ὀγμεύω, eine gerade Linie, ὄγμος, machen, eine gerade Richtung nehmen ; φορβῆς χρείᾳ στίβον ὀγμεύει τόνδε πέλας που, Soph. Phil. 163, den Tritt in gerader Richtung hinlenken, geradeausgehen, Schol. ἐφεξῆς πορεύεται ; bei der Jagd, τὸ πλῆθος τῶν πεζῶν καὶ τῶν ἱππέων ὤγμευον αὐτῷ, Xen. Cyr. 2.4.20, sie gingen in gerader Linie vor ihm her, zum Treiben des Wildes.
